PROFESSIONAL SERIES COMPETITION HARNESS
Complies with FIA 8853/98
RFR Cam Lock System:
- Autoliv Aftermarket's new competition harnesses use the
patented RFR (Regressive Force Release) Cam Lock System. After
the initial release operation, release forces become less
(regressive) instead of greater (progressive).
- Lightest weight cam lock available at 179 grams (6.3 ounces).
- The material used for the buckle housing is Polycarbonate.
It has high shock resistance and easily withstands temperatures
from +120ºC down to -52ºC.
Tested and operational to over 150,000 opening cycles.
- The RFR Cam Lock has been tested for load conditions exceeding
18kN (3970lb).
- Belt tongues are ejected from the buckle at full rotation
of opening lever.
- Competition style cam lock offers ergonomic design and is
in compliance with FIA/98 and the FISA regulations (without
a protruding lever to avoid the chance of unintentional release).
- All materials meet the applicable automotive flammability
and toxicity requirements.
- The carbon fibre "tilt member" gear assembly is
enclosed, therefore protected against dust, dirt, liquids,
etc.
- Springs are designed for durability and will not lose their
pre-load, as is often the case with cam locks using blade
springs.
76mm (3") Webbing:
- Autoliv Aftermarket uses Polyester Webbing for its harness
restraints. Polyester has a much better energy conversion
capability than common polyamide (Nylon) webbing especially
designed to minimise the forces during the rebound phase of
the accident. It does not have the "rubber band"
effect associated with other webbing.
- Polyester has the best resistance against UV-rays and chemicals,
such as solvents and acids.
- The webbing pattern prevents the straps from tangling. It
also provides optimum load spreading during crash conditions
due to its "memory effect", a device which keeps
the webbing flat.
76mm (3") Adjusters:
- Autoliv Aftermarket uses 76mm (3") length adjusters
which are approx. 70 grams (2.5 ounces) lighter than other
common adjusters on the market. The required adjusting forces
are also reduced by this design. Combined with lightweight
RFR buckle, Autoliv Aftermarket harnesses can be up to 350
grams (12.5 ounces) lighter than other brands.

COMPETITION RACE HARNESS
Complies with Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 2596 -
1999
Buckle and Tongue:
- Autoliv Aftermarket's new Competition Harnesses
use the proven K12 Buckle and Tongue as found in all Original
Equipment vehicle applications.
- Buckle and Tongue provide smooth, positive and easy engagement
and release.
- The material used for the Buckle and Tongue can withstand
temperatures from -300 to +1000 C.
- Tested and operational over 50-,000 opening cycles.
- The K12 Buckle has been tested for load conditions exceeding
18kN (3,970 lb)
Applications:
- Controlled motor racing events
- On road use where original belts are static not retractable
type.
50mm (2") Webbing:
- Autoliv Aftermarket uses Polyester Webbing for its harness
restraints specially designed to minimise the forces during
the rebound phase of the accident.
- Webbing is four panel high strength 27kN (5,950 lb) plus.
- Polyester has the best resistance against UV rays and chemicals.
50mm (2") Adjusters:
- Autoliv Aftermarket uses 50mm (2") length adjusters
that are compact yet strong and easy to adjust and are lighter
than other common adjusters on the market.
